Issues with the litter box can be really stressful for cats and us. But by talking through some of the possible reasons a cat may not be using their litter tray we can start to understand our feline friends even more. This can help us to take steps to get to the bottom of any reasons a cat may be urinating and defecating outside their litter tray , taking into account any possible emotional and physical factors.
During my time at University, I studied case studies of cats who were not using the litter tray and gathered extensive knowledge about the different reasons this could be. I learnt how this was investigated , monitored, managed and resolved.
